I think it’s safe to say that most of us have been neglecting our makeup routines during this pandemic because, well, masks + WFH. Now I wasn’t exactly a makeup person even before the pandemic started, so I don’t think lipsticks and eye shadows will be making a comeback anytime soon in my world (although who knows, maybe I will have a newfound love for it post-pandemic). But lately I’ve been missing wearing perfume so I started wearing it again and I am loving it! It makes such a huge difference in self-confidence… I think perfume is an important part of a person when it comes to attraction, to the point where if a man smell “meh”… well, it’s a bit of a turn-off for me. The right scent really has a way of making someone sexier.
A lot of people also associate perfume to people, places and memories attached to those. In my case, some of the perfumes I still wear to this day have a significance for me. My mother wore Dior’s Poison and YSL’s Opium my entire childhood, and to this day, Opium is still one of my favourites. Cartier’s Baiser Volé is another favourite of mine and I will never get tired of it. In the summer, I go for lighter, beachy scents and some of personal favourites are Issey Miyake’s L’eau d’Issey, Calvin Klein’s ck one, and Giorgio Armani’s Acqua Di Gio. But my all-time absolute favourite has got to be Chanel N°5 parfum, and trust me, it has nothing to do with the name. The words that come to mind when I wanna describe it are complex, strong, mysterious and woody, but I am mostly obsessed with that powdery quality it has that I have never found in any other perfume… I genuinely find it to be the absolute sexiest and most luxurious smell there is. It is usually my go-to on a night out or a date.
Thought I’d share with you all the perfumes I currently have on my top shelf, some recurring, others brand new but loving! If you’re interested, I also did a post not too long ago on a few other faves/on my wishlist, click here to check it out!
